Green Eyed Boy
is an exploration of the illustrative nature to of the masculine human form, by using both watercolour and ink; capturing both strength and vulnerability in its portrayal. The piece is inspired by contemporary fashion, with a semi-nude male model who embodies an attentive gaze, inviting viewers into a silent dialogue. His watchful eyes seem to track your every movement, creating an intimate connection that draws you deeper into the artwork.
This model is one among several that I have been compelled to study, each offering a unique perspective on masculinity and the complexities of human expression. Through the interplay of light and shadow, the textures of the skin, and the subtle nuances of posture, Green Eyed Boy seeks to challenge traditional representations of male beauty while celebrating its inherent diversity.
The work employs a rich palette and varied mediums to enhance the visual narrative, reflecting not only the aesthetics of the form but also the emotional undertones that accompany it. As my artistic journey continues, I remain committed to examining these themes, allowing the figures I create to communicate stories that resonate with audiences on a profound level.
